An about five-acre brush fire Wednesday morning destroyed a vehicle and threatened a home near Ephrata. Grant County Fire District 13 and Ephrata firefighters responded about 11 a.m. to a controlled burn that had gotten out of control in the 12800 block of Road A.5 Northwest, about five miles south of Ephrata. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and protect the residence. A vehicle on the property was destroyed in the fire.
