A log cabin-style home was severely damaged in a fire Sunday night. Firefighters were called to the 13000 block of 244th Ave. SE just before midnight and found flames coming from the two-story home atop a steep hill, according to Capt. Steve Westlake with Eastide Fire & Rescue. There were no hydrants in the area, but firefighters were able to get water to the scene, Westlake said. The family inside the home and their pets managed to escape safely without injury.
