A woman was injured Thursday afternoon in a house fire here. Firefighters who were the first to arrive discovered her on the second floor of the home in the 9300 block of 143rd Street. Firefighters helped the woman out the front door. She was taken to Evergreen Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the Kirkland Fire Department said. Two injured animals were discovered, treated for smoke inhalation and taken to a local veterinarian. Firefighters respond to the fire at 12:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
