Fire crews were at the scene of a house fire in Renton Friday morning. The fire broke out about 9:30 a.m. at a home in the 300 block of Earlington Avenue Southwest. When crews arrived, the home’s basement was engulfed in flames. Smoke was visible from downtown Renton. The fire started in the basement and crept up to the attic. Crews fought the fire defensively from the outside. The fire was out by 11:30 a.m. Of the four people who lived in the home, three were treated and released at the scene for minor smoke inhalation. Because of significant damage to the house, Red Cross was called to assist the occupants. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
