Investigators are eyeing a malfunctioning accelerator as a possible cause of a van crashing into a building Wednesday afternoon in Chehalis. Neither of the van’s two occupants were seriously injured, Chehalis Police Chief Glenn Schaffer told The Chronicle. Police received a report of the gray Chrysler minivan crashing into the building at the corner of Park and Pacific avenues at around 4 p.m. Witnesses reported the vehicle was driving on Pacific Avenue when it failed to negotiate a turn, hit several small trees and a stop sign and plowed into the building without stopping, Schaffer said.
