New Marysville firefighters hired, others receive awards

The Marysville Fire District swore in seven new full-timers Wednesday and also gave out some awards. Firefighter/paramedic Joseph Kendrick joins after more than 10 years of experience. Firefighter/paramedic Hunter Day previously served as a firefighter in Arlington and elsewhere. Sean Anderson, Thomas Fitchett, Scott Cloudy, Katie Hereth and Michael Work are firefighters. Hereth grew up in Marysville and graduated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School. She previously served at Fire District 19 in Silvana and has been a part-timer in Marysville since January. Work grew up in Arlington and graduated from Lakewood High School. He has been an EMT for 13 years, including four as a part-time firefighter with Marysville. Anderson and Cloudy have been part-timers here, and Fitchett is a former part-timer here.
