A 10-year-old boy from Everett died Thursday night after an accident involving a metal gate at the Sulamita Slavic Church in Mukilteo.
Officials were called to the church area about 4:25 p.m. Thursday where the boy reportedly had a large head injury, according to Brian McMahan, assistant fire chief with the Mukilteo Fire Department.
When paramedics arrived, two bystanders were doing CPR on the boy and had moved a gate off of him, McMahan told KOMO News Radio.
Not long after paramedics took over, the boy was pronounced dead.
Officials are unclear what exactly happened with the gate at this time.
McMahan said the incident was a "tragic accident" and police are investigating what happened with the gate.
