Deputies arrested a woman Wednesday afternoon for allegedly setting fire to a shop and house west of Yacolt.
Firefighters were called to the 15900 block of Northeast Gabriel Road at around 4:50 p.m. for a fire in a shop.
Clark County Fire District 10 Chief Sam Arola said there was a metal shop burning next to a house.
Firefighters arrived to see smoke coming from the shop eaves, he said. They went inside and were able to quickly douse the flames.
As firefighters were working, Angie M. Ingram, 46, came out of the house and asked a deputy on scene whether firefighters were going to put out a fire in the house as well, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy then noticed smoke and flames through one of the house windows, then firefighters went to put out that fire as well.
