The Uno Peak Fire burning in timber and rugged terrain 15 miles northwest of Manson has grown to 400 acres, according to a press release from the U.S. Forest Service.
The fire was reported at 8:18 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Central Washington Interagency Communications Center. It’s currently at zero percent containment.
On Thursday, helicopters and air tankers dropped water and retardant to slow fire spread to the south, the release states.
Crews on Friday will continue to concentrate on preventing the blaze from moving south by preparing forest roads to stop potential growth, according to the release. Thirty personnel are assigned to the fire.
