Firefighting working to contain the Jolly Mountain and Norse Peak fire benefited from the cooler temperatures as the fire’s movement was slowed down over the weekend. The Jolly Mountain Fire has burned almost 30,000 acres and the blaze has moved toward the containment lines on the west and east sides. Over 800 firefighters are adding to containment lines or mopping up the fire where it has reached the lines. The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office says they won't make any changes in evacuation levels until tomorrow. The Norse Peak fire is closing in on 50,000 acres burned and firefighters are taking a different approach when it comes to putting it out. They will be dividing the fire into two zones down the Pacific Coast Trail so two different teams can work on putting it out.
