Fire crews battled a fully involved house fire in Gold Bar early Tuesday. The fire at the vacant home on 144th Street Southeast and Whiteman Road was called in to 911 at about 3:20 a.m. When crews arrived, the fire was upgraded to a second alarm. Because the flames were too intense for fire crews to enter the home, the fire had to be fought defensively from the outside. The home burned nearly to the ground. A neighbor said the fire is the second within a day near his house. On Monday, a fire erupted in a field nearby.
