Many local authorities have been receiving calls asking how residents can help firefighters fighting the Jolly Mountain and Norse Peak fires burning in Central Washington. Instead of donating water, food, personal hygiene or other items, donate money to support both the crews and local businesses. In the rural base camps it's challenging to find storage for items that are donated and not needed at the moment. But monetary donations allow the fire and law enforcement crews to buy exactly what they need from local businesses that may have been losing revenues as a result of fire closures.
