Cowlitz County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man on allegations that he stole a Kalama fire district pickup, and the suspect is a seasonal firefighter for the agency. Rian Tyler Struckman, 39, who listed his address as “transient” according to deputies, was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail Saturday on suspicion of burglary, trafficking of stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license. On Sept. 7, someone stole $100,000 worth of equipment belonging to Kalama Fire District 5 including a white 2016 Ford pickup and a laptop from the Kalama station while firefighters were tackling the Eagle Creek fire in the Columbia Gorge.
