A student at La Center High School collapsed in the parking lot Wednesday morning, but luckily a firefighter was already at the school and ran to help. The girl had a medical incident and was found unconscious and was not breathing in the parking lot just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, prompting an emergency response. Clark County Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Brett Graham was already at the school and, within moments, ran out to render aid, the agency’s spokesman Tim Dawdy said. A school nurse also responded and gave the girl CPR while Graham used his automated external defibrillator to shock the student, Dawdy said.
