A home near Bremerton was gutted in a two-alarm fire early Tuesday morning, emergency officials said. Firefighters responded to the home, about three miles southwest of Bremerton near Hawthorne Avenue West and West Frone Drive in the small town of Gorst, at around 3:20 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames there. A second alarm was sounded as crews fought to bring the blaze under control. No one was home when the fire broke out, and there were no injuries. A South Kitsap Fire District spokesperson said the blaze apparently started in the back of the home and spread to the attic.
