Kennewick firefighters and firefighters from Benton County Fire District 1 have put out a large brush fire in Zintel Canyon. The fire burned out of control just off Ely Street in south Kennewick, Tuesday night shortly after 10 p.m. Fire officials tell Action News the fire is suspicious. Firefighters said they have responded to a couple other fires in the area in the past month. Kennewick city leaders closed a portion of the Spirit of America Trail in Zintel Canyon from the West 15th Avenue to the south-end of the trail for cleanup until further notice.
