One person was injured in a house fire early Monday morning. Firefighters were called out to a home on the 800 block of Babs Avenue at about 5:30 a.m. When they arrived, fire crews saw smoke and flames coming from inside the home. They said the fire started in the back side of the home and spread throughout the house. A 60-year-old woman was inside the home when the fire started, firefighters said. She has been taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A second person was taken to the hospital. Officials said she suffered a medical episode unrelated to the fire. Two pets, believed to be dogs, ran off when the fire started and haven’t been found. Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire. However, a neighbor told KAPP-KVEW the woman was burning a candle in her bedroom moments before the house caught fire.
