A man says his 23-year-old granddaughter did not make it out of a house that caught fire in Ridgefield early Wednesday morning. Crews responded to the fully-involved house fire at 3:51 a.m. in the 29300 block of Northwest 41st Avenue. The grandfather says he lives next door and has no idea what caused the fire that destroyed the home his granddaughter was inside. Firefighters say they're taking the family member's word that the woman is still inside the home. Officials say one man jumped from a second-story window to avoid the flames and broke his leg. Another man made it out safely. Clark County Fire and Rescue had to bring in tanks of water to fight the flames, since there wasn't a hydrant nearby.
