The Miriam Fire near White Pass, which started in July, is now at 2,236 acres and it is 9-percent contained.
According to a press release, firefighters have finished working on the Ginnette Lake to Twin Peaks area. Crews are still utilizing structure protection work on ski area structures. There is a new Emergency Area Closure that has been issued for the Clear Fork Fire (located in the Goat Rocks Wilderness on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest) expanding the current closure area associated with the Miriam Fire.
There are a total of 354 personnel working on the fire. Officials believe the fire will be fully contained by Sep. 1. Level one, two and three evacuations in the White Pass, Clear Lake and Rimrock Lake areas have not changed.
