Police say an illegal hash oil production is likely to blame for an explosion causing a house fire in Kennewick. Firefighters tell Action News there was an explosion inside the home at 15th and Yelm Street, Thursday around 12:35 p.m. A woman, later identified as Lenne Parson and four elementary-aged children were inside the home at the time of the explosion and were able to escape. Firefighters said Parson was injured and medics took her to Trios Hospital for treatment to her arms and hands. Responders said her injuries are not life-threatening. One of the kids was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Authorities are investigating the cause of this fire. Kennewick Police Sgt. Aaron Clem said it is possibly linked to a small hash oil production which likely caused the explosion, based on initial investigation.
