An early morning blaze left a transient woman without shelter after it destroyed the tiny house in which she was staying Wednesday.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire at one of the model homes at GreenPod Development, 1531 W. Sims Way, said Bill Beezley, spokesperson for East Jefferson Fire-Rescue.
The fire was reported at about 6:05 a.m. and was extinguished by 6:15 a.m., he said. The street was blocked until about 7:30 a.m., he said.
The 150-square-foot building “was burning pretty good when [firefighters] got there,” he said.
