Firefighters are working with the city to try to remove a vacant house that has caught fire twice, likely due to warming fires.
Officials with the Yakima Fire Department said this house, located at 713 N 6th Avenue, has previously caught fire since September 3, 2017.
Firefighters said it appears squatters broke into the boarded up house and went into the basement, that was damaged from the previous fire, and possibly started another fire to keep warm.
Flames then spread from the basement to the house which firefighters extinguished around 5:44 p.m. Monday, according to reports.
No injuries have been reported in this fire.
