A fire at a Skyway apartment building sent residents there fleeing out into the subfreezing cold early Monday.
Fire crews responded to the scene, in the 12700 block of 76th Avenue South, at around 5:30 a.m. after receiving reports that a blaze had broken out there.
When firefighters arrived on scene, flames and smoke were billowing from the first floor, said a Skyway Fire spokesperson.
Crews attacked the fire as others ran inside the building to make sure everyone had evacuated safely. No one was injured.
The blaze was extinguished, and investigators are now trying to determine the cause.
The Red Cross is responding to help an adult and three children who were displaced.
