Crews attack early morning fire at Seattle's Beacon Hill apartments

A two-alarm fire at an apartment building in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood sent residents fleeing into the subfreezing cold early Friday. Crews responded to the scene, in the 1700 block of 17th Avenue South, at about 5:15 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 6 a.m. There were no reports of injuries. The damage mostly impacted one unit in the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
