Two people have been rescued after their SUV crashed into the Puyallup River Monday morning. Several rescue agencies were called to the scene near 116th Street E and McCutheon Road East in Orting just after 11 a.m. after getting a report of a car in the river. Orting Valley firefighters said they arrived to find the two in the water attempting to swim to shore. They were eventually rescued and being treated by medics. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue officials said the two were cold but otherwise OK . There is no word yet what led up to the crash.
