A man has been arrested in an arson at an Everett apartment building that injured one woman and may have led to the death of a second woman. Firefighters battled the three-alarm fire at 2229 Colby Avenue on Dec. 21. One woman was hurt when she jumped from a second-floor balcony to escape. A 76-year-old woman, who was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, later died. Before her death, her family said she was unresponsive and on a breathing machine. The cause and manner of her death are still under investigation.
