Since January of 2017 there have been close to sixty fires along the Yakima Greenway, stretching across I-82 in Union Gap all the way into Selah, and onto Highway 12 right at the 16th avenue exit. City officials are working closely with law enforcement to look into various causes. " We're working in conjunction with our local law enforcement agencies and code enforcement in the city. They're actually out there trying to remove people that are camping out there to try and reduce some of that risk," says Yakima Fire Public information and Fire Prevention Officer Jeff Pfaff. Pfaff tells us there's various components that could cause these fires.
