Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked an overnight fire at the Lake Stevens post office.
Crews responded to the scene, at 17th Street and 124th Avenue, at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday after a passerby called to report seeing smoke and flames there.
When first responders arrived, they could see fire showing at the front entrance to the post office. Firefighters quickly were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and keep it contained to the public post office box area. The rest of the building sustained moderate smoke damage.
No one was injured in the fire, said Assistant Fire Marshal David Petersen.
