On Tuesday afternoon Kyle Matson was working from home when he noticed something wasn’t right “I saw some smoke and not more than a half hour later I was evacuated,” said Kyle Matson That’s when the Upriver Beacon Fire started to approach his father’s house and the new one he and his wife were building right next door. Grabbing their kids, their dogs and some essentials they left and feared the worse as they saw the fire spread. Kyle and his wife put their faith in the firefighters “We were parked over in upper Northwood. It’s the closest we could get and yeah I thought it was lost. It looked like it from that angle. I had already given up honestly. I actually even sent a text. I’m like yeah there goes my house to my friend,” explained Matson.
