Dry, windy weather conditions have caused a Red Flag Warning to take effect for two more days in Central Washington, including the Yakima Valley area, according to weather officials. The Red Flag Warning is in effect until 8 p.m., Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Spokane has also issued a warning from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, and again from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday. These weather conditions are impacting the southern areas of the Kittitas and Yakima valleys as well as the Lower Columbia Basin. The National Weather Service of Pendleton says winds will gradually decrease over Wednesday night but are expected to pick up again Thursday. Leaders said wind gusts could reach up to 30 miles per hour, likely causing any fires that spark to spread rapidly.
