The Naches Fire Department is no longer responding to medical emergencies at White Pass. After a meeting with Yakima County Commissioners Friday, leaders of the Naches Fire District say they don't have enough money in the budget to go to the area anymore.
A spokesperson for White Pass says they have enough medical crews on staff to handle emergencies untill other help arrives.
"We definetly are prepared to handle it, would it be great to have Naches still involved? Of course, but we're just going to wait and see what happens,"says Kathleen Goyette.
Other fire departments in Yakima County will now have to respond.
