Two dogs survive house fire in north Spokane

Firefighters made quick work of a house fire on Havana Street near Upriver Drive Tuesday morning. According to fire crews, a passerby spotted the fire and called 9-1-1. One person was inside the home but was able to get out safely. According to firefighters, two dogs were also inside the home when the blaze started. The lone occupant of the house picked one of the dogs up on her way out while the other was rescued by firefighters. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
