A family of four escaped a 2-alarm fire near Lynnwood early Friday morning after the mother heard a loud bang and evacuated the home. The fire started at about 1:40 a.m. in the 17000 block of 13th Ave. W. in Martha Lake, with flames shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived. A couple and their two young children were not hurt by the fire, which firefighters had to attack from the outside because conditions were too dangerous for them to enter the house. Snohomish County Fire crews said the home was undergoing a remodel. Two dogs have not been found following the fire.
