Several people are displaced after a house fire Saturday night in the 23200 block of Southeast 248th Street in Maple Valley. Three people managed to escape to safety, and no injuries were reported. Crews from Maple Valley Fire and the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority responded just before 9 p.m. Saturday and found a home with flames coming from the garage and lapping into the second floor and attic. Crews knocked the fire down on the outside before moving inside and kept the fire from spreading to other homes. Maple Valley Fire has determined the fire was caused by a mechanical failure of the vehicle in the garage and is considered accidental.
