Four people were hospitalized Wednesday following a hazardous material incident at a Snohomish County transfer station near Paine Field. A hazmat team and medics responded to the incident at the transfer station at 10700 Minuteman Drive at around 7:55 a.m., said Leslie Hynes of Snohomish County Fire District 1. She said some workers were moving materials around inside the station when their eyes started burning from exposure to an unknown material. Officials later said aid about 5 gallons of heavy duty degreaser that a customer brought into the facility was found in two 2.5-gallon jugs. One of the jugs had a loose lid.
