A driver is accused of pulling a gun on a Grant County Fire District 5 firefighter who had responded after the man rolled his car near Moses Lake. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is recommending an assault in the first degree charge against 27-year-old Moses Lake resident Andrew Reed in connection to the alleged assault back on Feb. 25. No charges have been filed against Reed. He is not in custody due to the serious, long-term injuries he suffered in the crash. Reed was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Harris Road and Road I Northeast when he went off the road, causing the vehicle to roll, according to the sheriff’s office on Wednesday. Emergency personnel responded, including fire district 5 Capt. Travis Svilar, who entered the vehicle to reach Reed. Sheriff’s office officials say Reed then pulled out a pistol and put it to Svilar’s chest.
