Firefighters extinguish Kelso fire

A fire at 713 South Seventh Ave. in Kelso was put out in five minutes by Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue and Longview Fire shortly after 10:30 Monday morning. Cowlitz 2 Lte. Jason Sanders said the fire was relatively contained to the house's back bedroom and no one was injured. The bedroom was destroyed, though Sanders said the rest of the house was likely livable in spite of some smoke and heat damage. Suzanne Craigmyle and her son's father rent the house. Craigmyle was the only one home when the fire broke out. She said she was in her bedroom on her laptop beforehand, then got up to go to the bathroom.
