Tri-Cities citizens can be first responders thanks to the release of a new safety app that can help during a cardiac arrest.
The PulsePoint app officially launched Monday morning at a press conference, but has been available for a couple of weeks.
Representatives from Richland Fire Department, Kadlec Regional Medical Center and Lourdes Health introduced the device at the press conference. Other partners in the project include Benton County Emergency Services, Pasco Fire Department, Kennewick Fire Dpeartment and the Benton County Fire Districts. The app alerts users when someone is going into a cardiac arrest and needs CPR nearby.
