It's an inside look at a fear that could become a very real possibility this summer. We're seeing what it looks like to drown from the eyes of a struggling swimmer. Firefighters have been on the cold and fast Spokane River today training for those critical moments. It's one of the best parts of living here in the area-- but firefighters want to remind you that it can also be dangerous. "People die in the Spokane River every year, and I don't know of any instance where someone was wearing their life jacket and drowned," said Captain Craig Warzon with the Spokane Valley Fire Department. That's why Spokane Valley firefighters spent their day practice throwing rope bags to swimmers and simulate rescuing people struggling in the water.
