An arson spree in North Seattle nearly caught one home on fire. Police said a man set at least eight fires Tuesday morning in Phinney Ridge, Wallingford and Green Lake Park and investigators don't think he planned to stop there. People who escaped some of the fires are relieved the man has been caught. A frantic knock on the door forced John Dalton to jump out of bed at his Wallingford apartment. It was Good Samaritan warning him a shed right outside his window was on fire and flames were inching close. The shed had two propane tanks inside and luckily they were empty. "Totally scared, didn't know if it was going to catch the whole house on fire,” said Dalton. "I looked out the window and sure enough this was totally engulfed and it was pretty—pretty scary."
