According to the National Fire Protecting Agency most structure fires that Firefighters get called out to are house fires. Today Benton County Fire District practiced live fire training for exactly that. Fire agencies across the region received a fire training grant to buy live fire burn boxes that are meant to simulate a house fire. This training is Important because it gives Firefighters hands-on experience for real life situations. "In terms of training we don't that much hands on training and in live scenarios where we get that practice. Burn boxes we can simulate house fires...bedrooms..hallway fires and observe fire behavior," said Tracy Baker, PIO Benton County Fire District 1. The Firefighters use wood packing pallets that you usually see at grocery stores, but this time they are being stacked in the burn boxes to be lit on fire.
