Multiple firefighter crews rushed to battle a 3-alarm fire in an office building near the old Olympia Brewery property in Tumwater early Monday morning. At about 2:30 a.m., a watchman on site reported seeing smoke in the building. According to Ann Cook, the communications manager for the City of Tumwater, the fire was burning south of the 100 block of Custer Way SW, which is not the historical property of the brewery that the city is currently in the process of renovating. She said that property is north of the road. According to Cook, there are no projects that will be affected in the office properties; however, it is unclear how much damage that will require attention after the fire. This section of property was part of the 1933 establishment that the city calls the modern plant of the brewery.
