A storage shed at Evergreen Coho SKP RV Park was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon. There were no injuries and the fire was contained to the small building. East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (EJFR) responded to the call at 2481 Anderson Lake Road after neighbors noticed flames through the back window of the shed around 12:52 p.m. One neighbor was about to use a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived, but ammunition stored inside began to explode because of the heat. “He backed away from the shed and then heard a loud ‘boom’ inside, which blew the back window out of the building,” said Bill Beezley, EJFR public information officer. Firefighters arrived to find the shed fully engulfed in flames and took action to stop the flames from spreading to nearby recreational vehicles.
