Firefighters from the Puget Sound and Renton regional fire authorities responded to and exinguished a house fire in the 11400 block of Southeast 217 Street on Saturday night. Neighbors first reported the fire around 9 p.m., which started in the covered walkway of the two-story house. The fire heavily damaged the front of the home, melting the siding and breaking out two windows. The interior only suffered smoke damage, Puget Sound RFA reported. The resident was able to escape out the garage door after hearing the sound of the fire and finding the front door blocked by flames, Puget Sound RFA said No one was injured in the fire, and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced family. The fire has been ruled “undetermined.” The fire investigator was able to locate where the fire started, but not the cause. Washington Water Damage provided a free board-up service to the residents.
