Indiana fire apparatus damaged while responding to wildland fire

Pleasant Run Fire Department was dispatched to provide mutual aid in the 1700 block of Hayes Road to Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Department. The call came in at 1:59 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. While responding to the incident a burning tree needed to be cut down, the tree unexpectedly fell in the wrong direction striking one of the Pleasant Run fire apparatus. “Although the apparatus suffered significant damages personnel on the scene were not injured. We were thankful no one was injured,” said Chad Hillenburg Fire Chief Chad Hillenburg. At the time of this incident a thunderstorm was also moving through the area. The Marshall Township, Oolitic and Pleasant Run Twp. Fire Department was dispatched to a wildland fire that caught trees on fire and had to be extinguished at 1:59 p.m.
