Oshkosh emergency crews responded at 6:40 a.m. to a fire at the Magnet Billiards & Bar, 519 N. Main St. There were three fire trucks in the back parking lot at Division and Church Streets, two fire trucks in the front of the building on Main Street, two ambulances and police officers at the scene as of 8:15 a.m. Smoke was reported to be coming out of the second-story windows of the building, where as many as three apartments are located above the bar, according to a USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin reporter on scene. No flames were visible. Firefighters knocked out five windows on the second floor. Two fire crews were working on the building, with one entering from the back entrance at the parking lot and the other from the front entrance on Main Street. Members of the Oshkosh Police Department have blocked off Division and Main streets at Church Street and Parkway Avenue. About ten people watched from across Main Street as firefighters went in and out of the building. Ernest Stadler, who lives down the street, said he's made many enjoyable memories at the bar playing pool. "It's a sad day," he said, adding people go to the Magnet to find out what's going on in town.
