PHOTO: A barn containing hay and straw caught fire Saturday afternoon in the town of Cross Plains, and collapsed despite the firefighting efforts of seven area departments. In a news release, the Dane County Sheriff's Office said deputies, along with firefighters from Cross Plains, Madison, Mazomanie, Middleton, Arena, Verona and Waunakee, responded to the blaze at 3822 Garfoot Road around 4:52 p.m.
