VIDEO: Three people escape a house fire in Two Rivers. The fire chief says his crews contained the fire to the attic, but there’s still some heavy damage to the home. Two Rivers Fire Chief Scott Schneider says the call came in just after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday night to a house in the 2600 13th Street on the city’s south side. A man staying with the homeowners noticed smoke coming from the attic. One of the owners opened the access door to the attic and saw flames. All three people in the house got and called 911. Firefighters say they had to pull out the ceilings and insulation to reach all the flames. They say it was difficult work in the confined space of the attic, and in the heat and humidity. Manitowoc firefighters helped at the scene. No one was injured. The fire department estimates the fire caused $60,000 damage.
