VIDEO: The Appleton Fire Department says it has now responded to four fires since its “Keep the Wreath Green” effort began earlier this holiday season. Wreaths with green bulbs hang currently outside each fire station in the city. Every time there is a fire, firefighters change a bulb from green to red. Fire departments participate in the program each year to bring awareness to fires during the holiday season. The fourth fire happened at 7:47 a.m. Friday at Burger King, 2020 E. Northland Ave., where an employee reported that fry oil was on fire in the kitchen.
