A fire at a recently opened Forest County supper club closed Highway 8 for hours Monday night. Crews responded to the Silver Lake Inn just west of Laona around 6 p.m. As of 8 p.m. Monday, firefighters were still working to put out the fire in the main restaurant building. Flames were seen coming out of the roof on the east side. Crews from Laona, Wabeno, Crandon, Lakewoods, Argonne, Newald, and Townsend all responded to the fire. Two ladder trucks sprayed water on the roof of the building.
